Laguerre Filter Indicator is a VertexFX client VTL trend based indicator used to determine market trends and turning points. This indicator comprises of two components, the Laguerre Filter (Blue) and Signal (Red) which is a slower WMA.
Laguerre Filter uses fourth degree of Laguerre filter by damping the median price, the dvantage of Laguerre Filter is it eliminates whipsaws in price without adding too much lag. It can be observed on charts that this indicator (Blue) ignores the short-term (2-3 bar) whipsaws and thus remains in trade.
This is one of the most important characteristics of the Laguerre Filter compared to other trending indicators like SMA, EMA, and WMA.
BUY – Place Buy position when Laguerre Filter (Blue) line crosses above Signal (Red) line. Stop loss should be placed below Red line.
Usage
- Download the attachment.
- Copy it to your company VertexFX Local VTL Files folder i.e. C:Program FilesCompany Namevtl10Local VTL Scripts
- Restart your Client Terminal or Right Click on “Local VTL Scripts” Tree Node to find the script.
